So im going to buy a new system this november, list goes like this:

----------------------------------

Tai-Chi (H2O Version)

Peltier (DangerDen) MAZE4-1GPU

DFI nf4/rdx200
X1800XT 256

OCZ Powerstream 520watts
3.3v | 28@
5v | 40@
12v |33@

AMD X2 3800+
X-Fi Music
Mushkin Redline
Raptor

-----------------------------------

Can I pull it off with that same power supply to power my whole system? The 80watts pelt for my X1800XT is enough?

The H20 cooling on the "Tai-Chi" case will be enough?

Do I need a relay or something else to make it "safe", or just with the same psu to power it all at the same time?

And anyone has any guide to do it (ive already read the xtremesystem one :D but pictres would help). Thanks a bunch.

Remember, all going from the same PSU (System, Pump, Fans, Pelt)

No not off psu. And 80watts is not enough. Tai-chi case will also probably not be enough. I'm working on a guide (its almost done) for basic pelt stuff and you may want to take a read to it when I'm done.

Ouch... then I guess im going basic water only :( , damn peltier sounded too good to be true. Though its much cheaper than Phase Change :stick:  .
Thanks for the input :p: .

It is much cheaper, just takes a bit more knowledge.

Not to mention compact. I'll post pics of my new rig once my camera memory gets in.

Do you really think so? I think DIY peltier vs. DIY phase it would be hard to make that claim. Just so happens that the phase change retail market provides us with a lot of ready made options. Now to make Peltier cooling as effective as phase change cooling, THAT takes some knowledge =)

I also hugely agree that 80W will not be good to run off of your main psu, nor will it be sufficient to do you any good on a x1800 series

I think building phase change is harder than building a pelt system.

But installing a prommy or vapochill is much easyer than building a TEC setup.

TEC is allways going to be partly self designed and built, even if you buy everything off the shelf, where as a prommy is all worked out for you, you just plug it in and it works.

Personally I found my prommy easyer to use and install than watercooling as well.
That shows how easy prommy was, rather than how hard water is, they are both easy enough.

Just to answer the original queston.
80watt on that GPU is no where near enough.
its als oa bad idea to run a pelt of your PSU.

i run my pelt on a x800, just for noveltly purposes, keeps temps at like 28c not great, but its cool.

Hehe, ok, so this is a big NO NO. Thanks guys, good thing I took some time to read some stuff here before going to buy my stuff! Thanks again. I guess I will go to the water forum and ask for advice on my new rig ;) . Thanks again.
