View Full Version : Photos of my 7800GTX Vmods
Well,
This was my first VMod, it could have gone more smoothly, but I think I did okay, I moved them to the edge of the pcb because they were too hard to access on a computer inside of the case.

First Vmod on 7800GTX?
He sure got b**ls :toast:
looks like a very clean job.
Here's another photo from a different angle, I took out my cards today and spent a little time to coat those exposed trimpot legs with liquid electrical tape, that stuff is awesome! Took the photos first though!

Looks very clean bro.
Might want to consider putting something thats non-conductive between those resitor legs and the boards PCB. Hate to see a short-circuit. Cut those resistor legs in half before your next vmod journey.

Hey thanks, I had originally done the mod the way viperjohn showed it with the potentiometer legs soldered directly to the pcb, that's why they are so long.
After taking out the cards yesterday I coated the exposed legs with liquid electrical tape, thanks for the advice!

i find some hot glue works well.

i've done the same vgp like wee (thanks :)).
without vGPU: 535 MHz + 50 MHz delta
with vGPU @ 1,5V: around 565-570 MHz + 50 MHz delta
both on a modded air cooling

Why hasn't the Core Frequency increased that much. 550Mhz seems low for a watercooled vModed GTX

That's a really nice vmod job. I especially like the placement of the pots at the edge of the board for tweaking-friendliness.

One of my cards is a really poor clocker, they used a different voltage regulation IC than i've seen on most it was a really early card, the gpu voltage droops under load unlike the other card.
The good one does about 635 no delta on peltier @ 6C loaded and could probably do better w/ some more tweaking.
