Hi all, I bought myself some second hand mushkin pc3200 special 2-2-2.
Those are bh-6 chips.

But 1 stick is just not stable @200mhz 2-2-2-6 (stock frequenties)...

At 3,2v it gives ~50 errors per #5 pass memtest86+ and at 2,9v it gives about 2000 errors per pass......

I tried all possible settings but it just wont become error free  :slapass: :slapass: :slapass:

Today i'm gonna try in another mobo and maby pop the heatspreaders off
Can anyone help me please with some 100% stable settings for bh-6 and mabey some other tips?

Thanks in advance!

Very sorry to hear that. This is why we discourage people buying second hand ram

Ok now doing some testing with OCZ ddr booster.

On 3,45 i'm MEMTEST STABLE on 245mhz 2-2-2-5 so far!!!

Really weird but i'm very happy I dont see any memtest errors any more :toast:

Oh yeah, the other thing I did was constructing a 120mm fan 220v (really very much rpm and airflow) in front of the mem.
So it is much better cooled to now.

I dont know what helped me to get the hole thing stable, the fan or the volts.

I will experiment with both of them but now first some clocking ;) ;)

edit:
This ram is really weird...
I can run memtest86+ test 5 @249mhz 2-2-2-5 for 20 passes error free @3,45v
But at 250mhz 2-2-2-5 3,45 and 3,5v (both tested) it gives ~85 errors per pass of #5 :stick:

I'm gonna test the memory at 250+ now with some higher volts...

well guy's I found out that my memcontroller just aint no good any more i think....

2x256mb it can handle 280+mhz 2-2-2-5 but 2x512mb of 2x1gb (my24/7 set) it just gives errors at 250mhz and higher. The limit is EXACTLY at 250 mhz....

Very weird imo.

I found this out after i tested both of the muskins seperate and they both did 260+mhz 2-2-2-5.
So I tested the 2x1gb twinmos (infineon chips, same as on the new gskill) also and I found out they EXACTLY max out at 249mhz :stick: :stick: :stick:

Well i will try this memory modules in an other motherboard of a m8 of me and that will convince me if my memcontroller is just sucky or my board is just F* up..

Now I am going to test the 2x1gb modules seperate and try if 2T DC is stable..

edit:
Yep its true.
Seperate my 2x1gb sticks do 265(+) mhz also..
Can I rma this cpu?

El Snorro, Have you tried is there any difference if you just use basic air cooling for your CPU?

HolyAk, can you post your timings?

I will try basic air cooling soon.

Will post results :)
