Hi guys

Been doing my national service all those months... so i was away...

Things have changed a lot since last july that i left the UK and came back home...Cpus...boards...gfx cards...eheh

I wasnt using my Mach 2 GT rig a lot tbh.Stopped running it 24h and stuff...

Few days ago i powered up my unit just to find out the pc wouldnt boot.

I found the rig shut down...powered up again, sat and watched the whole process just to find out that the evaporator temps wouldnt drop...

For example say the unit started at 25C, it would then drop at say +17C and then it would flunctuate there...sometimes it went up etc etc...then i got the error message too slow and the unit shut down...I had it set up to boot @ -40C

I didnt touch the evaporator at all and the head...the pc case was shut with the side dooor for months without probs.

I had to take it all apart to check the unit out on its own.Removed the side panels...and didnt see any leaks burns or whatever...

Powerred up the unit again..got the same message..iccicles would form in the evaporators head(not in the same degree as it used to though) and everything was cold but again the same prob...

So whats dead in my Mach 2 GT?

I asked my mate who sells them and told me that it should be a leak that needs fixxing....

Anyone got a clue on what could it be?

If its a leak i am gonna have to find someone who knows about compressors and stuff...repair the leak and then ask him to recharge it with R507 i guess? which is ment to give higher performance? But i would have to ask you guys who may know about what quantity of refrigerant is needed...how to dismantle the head and stuff...

anyways....what seems to be the prob with the unit?

I bought a socket 939 mounting kit as well when nventiv went bancrupt so that i could use the unit with amds in the future...its a shame for this not to happen ;)

Nice to see you about mate

OK normaly if it is a leak it will be where the flexable suction line joins the solid copper but if you say that ice is forming on the head yes?? It could be the temp sensor or the control board as well... Make sure your temp sensor is plugged into the controler correctly if you have a temp metere or thermometer that reads sub zero temps check and see what the actual temp is on the evap is it is going well below zero then flash your firmware on the mach that my help
Or whip back across to the EP forums and read some of the threads there

I have a temp sensor for water...used for my watercooling system and i think it went down to -5 or something while touching the head...it aint a proper probe though....its for water...

well the head made some snow flakes but it didnt fill the heads surface as it used to do when i tried it in the past...

You reckon its the temp probe?

I had a quick look in the control board and i didnt see anything....prob is how on earth can i know its the control board...ehehe....

Forgot to mention that a few days before this happened...my father shut down the electricity of the whole house while my pc was operating....it didnt power up then....i had to take the power cord off the back of the Prommie and then put it back in...it then worked...

Any help would be great...

Fatty m8 i will try your advice in the next few weeks as i had no time at all and moved my unit in my other house.Where are the temp sensors located in the unit?
