So i got this Mach 1 coming in the weekend.
Just bought it quite cheap, r404a modded. The capline has been lenghtened by 1.5 metres, which i don't like. Does anyone, on a side note, know what the approximate capacity is for such a system?
The thing is it comes with a kit for s478. i have found a socket A kit i could buy pretty cheap i guess. I just don't wanna buy it if i don't have to as i have a new system in the works when i get the money, which will be before christmas i hope. So i wanna play with it on this one, and never use the soket kit again. For 939 i found a nice guide on making noe myself yesterday. It was hust as i planned to do it, as i knew the holes on 939 has a nice spacing between them. I am not sure there is enough distance between the holes on 462 to allow rods through the motherboard, as i think the enclosure for the mach evap is too big.
The only giude i could find yesterday did not exist..
So does anyone know an easy way to mount a mach on s462 without the proper mountingkit?

best bet is prolly to send a pm to chilly, that guy could prolly write a book on making custom phase change parts

I don't need any parts really. Actually it all comes down to one question:
Is the enlocsure of a mach1 too wide for me to fit rods throguh standard socket A mounting holes?
Anyway i would not like to PM chilly, as he is far more busy than what's good for him already ;)

It should come with a metal clip, if you get that outta the P4 Bracket, you will notice it fit's the Sckt. A mounting lugs :toast:

Lengthened by 1.5 meters? What is the total length and size of cap tubing? :P

1.5m is way to long to be added to a mach 1 system, you need 93" of .028 captube with a free standing charge of43psia @ room temp.

that was what i thought too. but it works, he has cooled a lot of stuff with it. a64, and lately a p4ee. i will try to get hold of the modder, who has done quite a few mods in denmark. 1.5m of 0.7mm cap was what i was told by the seller.

or bit shorter like 7ft 4-6" for X2 highly overclocked :P

Okay, has anyone ever done this?
I tried it yesterday.. And it it an extremely tight fit, i can't believe if they are meant to be like that..
I could not get it entirely on, so when i tried to get it off it tore small pieces of the socket lugs with it.
No worries though, board is still working..

you have to squeeze the brass things together, opening up the clip first, then put it on the socket... Many people have done it, and that's the method according to my mach 1 user manual.

Yes i know, but i can't squeeze it enough.. It seems the bracket is a milimeter too short or so.. Are we 100% positive this bracket is the same as the one from the skt a mountingkit?

Well i made it work.
I used a pair of pliers to bend the bracket like so:

Then i bought some tube-insulation an starightened it to use as insulation around the socket (original p4-bracket on the back of the board):

There is sealstring underneath. I could not press the evap towards the die with sealstring at the evap too, so i hope the pressure is enough.

So actually this leaves mewith one complete mountingkit for p4 and one custom kit for socket A, as the mach came with an extra mountingplate because it had a broken screw in it. This meant that there were 4 mountingscrews too :) Which is great ;)
For the few select who understand Danish i will post my results here:

And thanks for your support, Nosfer@tu :toast:
This is not the system of my dreams. I am going to upgrade very soon :)
