Las Vegas (NV) - Solid-state storage may come much sooner into reach for consumers than many expected just a few years ago. Adtron's 8 GByte A35FB drive is further evidence that Flash harddrives are stepping down the price ladder and could complement traditional harddrives in the not too distant future.

or you can buy some 2 gig flash ram cards and stick them in a flash to IDE adapter for cheap :)

I have a two uses for this. Submersable data storage and shock resistant storage.

It's not going to be useful for any sort of performance releated task.

Only SOme times.. Capacity is more important in other circumstances...
Unless you feel like going back to the days of 2Gb hard drives that cost $500
