View Full Version : Pentium 2 Farm (150 pc's)

I was asked to install 150 Pentium 2 350 rigs, should I install D2OL on all of them or not? They will run 24/7, but I don't know what their output is...

Do or Don't?

If you have permission then I say yes. even if they only do 10-15 a day thats still a nice figure, specially if they are going to be on anyway. Can you put Dimes on there as well at all, as your would clean up in the stats and boost the team somewhat. :banana:

My 166mhz didnt even do 1 cand a day. My 1Ghz Celeron (when working :stick:) does about 20-25.

I say run it on 1 rig first - test to see if its worth the hassle of installing it that many times :)

Well I have some PIII450s and Im sure they do nearly 20 a day. Remember the fpu is quite low on celerons. PII350 run 100 fsb as well.

Well I have some PIII450s and Im sure they do nearly 20 a day. Remember the fpu is quite low on celerons. PII350 run 100 fsb as well.

Talk to UnG and put dimes on them if you have a good broadband connection, d2ol would be useless on those machines.

166mhz = 0pd
1006mhz = 20-25pd

so say 350mhz is a third of my output on Mr.Celly means that they should do 6-8pd each.

That's definately not worth it, even 900-1200 cands wouldn't make me happy if I had to install it on 150 rigs...

i had a P2 350 i messed with for a bit... it did about 7 or 8 cans a day.. if it got stuck on a really big can, like 2 or 3 a day.

I have a PII 200mhz running D2OL and it does 5 cans p/d,its not much but he every bit helps,i put 2000 cans on it and its happy for about 1year:lol:.

Plenty mate, just drop the sampling rate a bit.As long as you aren't D/L'ing stuff 24/7, then it won't interfere.

That's waht I do, but I will cancel them anyhow... I think I get those rigs in the Christmas holidays, so I'll see what I can do, at least I can hook up 26 at a time :D

to answer the question about how many they can do a day 12-15. But that depends and the amount of memory is in the systems. With the two PIIs I run I installed 512megs of memory in both of them. And for the time being they crunch along happily 24/7 as long as it doesnt get too warm.
