Been away fromhere for a while lately... Too busy with my 1mth old son & WoW...

Just bought some G-Skill BH5's yeaterday... Went to pick up an X2 3800+ as well while I was at it but alas... most of the resellers/distributors didn't have it for a few days so i had to pay & wait...

Got home, ripped out my trusty old 2x256MB XMS3500 (cos it was just making gameplay unbearable with constant lags in WoW)...

Before, my rig was just running at 10x230HTT with the ram timings set to as tight as by XMS3500 would allow...

put in the G-Skills, & off I went without changing anything... Played WoW for a good 2hrs+ & then when i exited the game, I thought I'd run some Memtest86+...

Turned the wick up slightly to 240 @ tight timings but left the volts at 3.2v...

Ran fine for overnight so in the morning I left it on 10x245 @ 3.2v & left Memtest running while I was at work...

Mate, these G-Skill's are as good as what everyone was saying...

I gave my old OCZ PC3200 GOLD away to my bro because ever since the time I got them & they ran at 240MHz for a month or so, they have failed to live up to the hype that was OCZ...

Here's a screenie of my "decent" Mind you I haven't been aiming for huge OC's anymore... Good enough for gameplay till I get tired of WoW...

Until tomorrow morning when I get my X2 3800+...

erik....that was unnecessary.

Good to see the RAM working so well for ya, Minnyboy! I know you're more into WoW than OCing right now, but how about turning up the volts? ;)

Man... I'm getting the hang of FireFox & it doesn't seem to do the things like I did it IE...

Uploaded the pic & started the new thread & all...

Oops... Bummer... didn't realise that the image was too big & all...

Well, here it is.. Will adding some more volts to it now... WoW's servers are down for maintenance tonite...

Using DDR Booster but have n't turned it at all... just using the default DFI voltages... Don't like using the DFI for over 3.2v...

Be back tomorrow with more results as I like to leave Memtest running for over 5hrs+...

Tried jumping straight from 245 to 255 & got errors straight away...

Then I tried upping the volts to 3.4 but still got errors...

Gotta play around with the "other" timings tonight...

Oh well, just when i thoguht my luck had changed...

Might give it some time to burn in as it's pretty much "straight off the truck"...

you might want to remove spreaders as you go voltage above 3.3, since spreaders restrict airflow around chips. also, you may want to try trc 10 and trfc 15.

most UTT's iv tested crap out around 250-260 anyway, regardless of voltage. also, voltage above 3.6 doesnt seem to do anything other than giving more errors in memtest.

Indeed old BH-5 response more on voltage, above 3,6Volt not much but it certainly doesn't give errors, UTT often give's error's.

I traded off mine wasn't able to get them stable at anything higher than 245, even with 3,55V.. Tried everything, so got some good old lvl2 BH5 instead..

At least these ones perform better than my OCZ 3200 Gold (BH-Dies)...

Maybe sometime later next week I can try it out again after the RAM has had some time to burn in...

I don't really believe in the "burning in" concept but I'm open to all ideas...

Will try to change trc & trfc to 10 & 15 as you said chainhoe...

Too busy lately concentrating on levelling up in WoW...

Currently on running my RAM & CPU @ 230MHz/HTT as I'm "burning in my new CPU & RAM... That & the fact that I don't wanna have to reboot the PC or have the PC reboot on me while I'm concentrating on kicking ass on WoW...

Will update my thread once I'm satisfied with my "burning in"...

So these are old die new production BH-5?

Not too sure what you mean but they are basically using the old fabs/factories that made BH5 when they were around originally...

Apparently Winbond sold off the machines to another manufacturer of RAM & that's how we have our "new" BH5's...

Yeah, just curious how this "new" BH-5 came to be. Is it really the same?
