Howdy, I am a new forum member and just downloaded the D2DOL proggy. As usuall, I didn't read anything, I am a learn as I go type...lol
Is this working?
Errors to be of concern?
What TEAM do I need to Join?
Anything else I should know?
I wish to be a contributing member to this forum and would appreciate any assistance in getting this D2DOL thing going.

yeah, the servers went down over the weekend, which is a pretty regular occurance for D2OL. Everything should be back up and running in few hours. Good to see that you decided to join us in here.

DragonOrta; you've been really helpful to me, on both posts so far & thanks. How long does it take to see a result? Is there anything I can monitor? I noticed that my processor was using about 30% load but I didn't see anything running or completed. I had it on for about 2 hours running at 4Ghz...I would think it could process something in that amount of time?

First of all :welcome: to XS where we try to chase :cow:s w/ xtreme efficiency (see linky at bottom of sig)
D2oL people should see a nag-mail from me as soon as they check their email.
After that the system has to register nodes (Wha, who? :D  )
When they are back up and you can actually DO stuff w/ this, just ask, we'll all lead you through :D
Did you use the 2 instance installer? Mr. Rodzilla's 2-instance EZ-installer (http://xsjeff.canyonlake.net/Rodzilla/2x%20Personal%20XS_D2OL.exe)
This will set up every thing so you can run 2 instances for 2 cores (300 candidates / day - GOOOD :D )
If so you just wait and CRUNCH when things start working.
1. Save off your node.prp! (in D2OL1\D2OL\res... IIRC), That way if you have to reinstall, you can keep your node ID and reuse it (someone else please elaborate for me....)
Otherwise if you can, uninstall if nothing has happened yet and use the installer above, which includes a process called D2Daddy that helps make sure that you can always use your machine by knocking down the priorities of the processes started by D2OL (gridwin/dockwin.exe) as soon as they start up.
Get DSpy.exe and use it (set dir location (Browse) to D2OL#/D2OL, #= instance (2 for dualcore installs) and do 1 / tab (top 1,2,3,....) so you can track the progress of each instance.
The 'fruits of your D2OL labor' (resultsqueue.dat) are sent back to D2OL land (if the server is UP  ) approx every 6 hours or when you reboot. You will see tangible results then in stats :fact:
Until then watch in DSpy to see that things are working.
I will update this reply as I get time throughout the day so stay tuned.... :D

well, Every once in a while, the servers go down. The servers give you work to do when you run out of work. Since they've been down since you signed up, you haven't recieved any work. The best way to see if the servers are back, in my perspective, is to look at the free-dc stats page at about 15 past the hour.here is the free-dc page for XS (http://stats.free-dc.org/new/teamstats.php?proj=d2ol&team=XtremeSystems), in case you haven't gotten around to looking there yet. I hope the servers will be back by at least noon. Once they're back, just go to the status window and press manual update. You'll get work then, and you'll be off crunching.
While you are waiting, I'd suggest setting the candidate queue size to 2000, just to make sure you have work to do whenever this happens. Another thing to do is to get D2OL WatchDog instead of D2Daddy. I think it does a better job. here is thread for watchdog (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=817786#post817786), and then on the second page, post #30 is the file to uninstall D2Daddy. I can't think of anything else, so I'm off to class. If you have any more questions, ask away. :)

They had an 'exciting power outage' and Charles puts it, but they are slowly getting back up

:welcome: to the sickness! As everyone has told you :D... the servers are down so you can't download new work. They will be up soon... I hope
Thanks to everyone for helping DAK out
