Hey guys, i havent had a alot of time to get my posting in this forum going but i been wondering for awhile what a max 24/7 safe voltage would be on my 2.8E prescot, its a 478 chip, i have it runnin at 3.5Ghz 24/7 at 1.48V with an xp 90 heatsink with a 57 CFM 92 mm panaflo fan. I not sure how high i can have this go without killing it, i want this rig for atleast one more year before an upgrade as i have alot of things around the house that needs to be tended to before another pc. Here is the full specs of my pc:
P4 2.8E @ 3.5Ghz(24/7),3.7Ghz (benchmarking) 1:1,
Abit IC7 Max 3
2 X 512mb OCZ PC 3700 dual channel Performance series ram
EVGA 6800GT @ 440mhz/1.2Ghz(24/7),
2X80 gig SATA RAID 0 drives,
SB Audigy 2 24bit
Enermax 460 watt PSU,
Thermalright Xp 90 + 92 mm panaflo fan
Arctic Cooling Nv Silencer 5 Rev. 2
So what do you guys think a safe voltage would be? Oh right by the way my temps are 39C-42C idle and 50-53C on load.

I believe 1.50v would be tops...Mine is at 1.4375 and that's about as high as I want to go, it's a 3.2 D0 that does 250FSB. I am happy!!! I do know that the Pressy's can't handle nearly as much as the Northy's

1.55v as measured from choke. Although some run much higher, fordf250 comes to mind. :D

And you base this off of????? First of all, the pressies use less voltage because of their smaller manufacturing process, and second of all, a lot of northwoods died at like 1.75V, regardless of cooling, where presscotts havent yet seen a "sudden death syndrome" voltage level. Ive had 1.63V thru my pressie, on water, but ive seen them incredibly high before on cascades and LN2(im talkin like 1.8-1.9 Volts). Anyhow, givin that youre on air, id say about 1.5 Also. You might be able to use 1.52 or so if temps arent bad. id say like 60 degrees or so as reported by your mobo that reads about 10 high...

do you mean 1.52 threw bios or what abit eq reads? when i put it at 1.51 in bios, abit and everest both read it at 1.49, and when i go into the bios and again and read the voltages it shows 1.46 in bios even though its set at 1.51, so say i set it to 1.55 and it comes at 1.5Volts, is that safe?
