I know its probably gonna be no, but I'm desparate... :p

Can I use polyol ester oil in a vacuum pump?

I figured I'd ask just in case. Because if I can, I'd run down and fill the pump on... But I figured its not a good idea. But can I?

I know theres vacuum pump oil but i think any kinda oil will do the trick if u got nothing around try 10w30 engine oil i believe those oils are resistant to moisture and are not very thick.

polyester will soak up moisture like a sponge, just wait and get the correct oil.

Yeah I figured :) Just thought I'd ask.

By the way, how do I manage to charge my system with oil without exposing that oil to the atmosphere? I can't take it to work and use theirs, so what do I do?

Err... do it quick...? :)
I decided to invest on oil pump so I don't have to worry about that. I don't see why it should be so expensive for simple thing but oh well, such is the case with most HVAC tool it seems.

Well I've decided on using the vac to draw it in. That works well too. Just gotta do it quickly, then vac it down for alot longer.

You cant use any other oils that absorb water out of the air. You could get a spare compressor in the mean time and use it to pull your vac until you get some more oil.

Nahh, its not urgent... I just wanted to do it that's all. But there aren't any other stores around here that sell pump oil that I know of besides the dang stores that close at 5PM... pretty dang inconvenient for me...
