Hi!
I was wondering how the Vapochill micro compares to the Big Typhoon. I am close to buy the BT but my concern is that I move my PC almost everyday from one room to another (i use it as HTPC for my projector) and the BT being so big could cause damage to the CPU. Should I be worried? Is the Vapochill comparable but much lighter?

U won't have a single prob. Bt's clip is very secure.

I move my PC hundreds of miles with the BT in place on a nekked core. Just make sure the mobo is horizontal to the earth while moving it. You will be fine

Cool, thanks. I was impressed with the "tech" behind the Vapochill untill I saw the real life performance. Still is not bad for a lighter solution but I want the best and it seems thats BT so hopefully I will found it today at Fry's and will let you know how much it helped my case.

vapo micro isn't all that great. I'd go with the BT and just lay it horizontally like ugly'n'grey said

I just got response from Thermaltake and the "tech" claims that its not possible to mount the Typhoon in a DFI NF3 mobo without removing the mobo first! What?! Is he right or he doesnt even know what he is talking about?

yes it is. I wont remove my mobo, I got my reasons. But someone else said that since A64 already have the support plate all I needed was larger screws.

Why won't you remove your motherboard

What's wrong with removing the mobo? I mean it's better then losing a coupla hundred dollars coz you didn't install the cooler right

Guys to me removing the board is out of the question at this time. I will only do it if going for water or phase but not for air. Cant expend the time doing that due to personal problems...take my word for it...cant do it right now.

then you better off staying with your stock cooler :D :D the big typhoon is HUGE, if you attempt to install it without removing the motherboard, you'll most likely end up breaking something, a regular screwdriver ain't gonna let you get around those fins to tighten down the H bracket!!

you might get away with the XP-90C without removing mobo, it's better than stock for sure.

I just read the instructions at Thermal take and I dont see why I have to remove the mobo anyway. I know it may be harder to install but at least wont have to remove everything (my pc is loaded with stuff).

If you are careful and keep the existing backplate aligned when you remove the standard DFI HS retainer, you can bolt the TT down with the exact same size screw that held on the standard mount to begin with....the DFI backplate works fine if you have the correct screws..

Ok. I will do my best. Gonna buy HS more than likely next week (if I can resist temptation to buy it today!). Trying to research as much as possible before buying.

What?
I think I found my new HS...SCYTHE Ninja. Great performance (I will get the fastest-noise is no problem-fan) and its very simple to install.
