Got an itching for a dual core setup and since I've got some time off work coming, would be great to set it up during that time.
What you guys think P5WD2 or Crossfire?

P5WD2 is supposed to get official crossfire support from ATi once its out. I'd say get the Asus :)

P5WD2-Premium and CrossFire go hand in hand now. Basically any of the only two boards in the market with a 955X chipset and two PCI-Ex16 can pull it off.
Apparently someone is running CrossFire with a P5WD2-Premium: See Here (http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/FeedBack/CustRatingReview.asp?Item=N82E16814102611).
I used to go nVidia "only" but now that nVidia is BSing in such major scale by not giving SLI to Intel, nVidia can kiss my A$$ because from this day forward I'm only buying ATI's. I wonder why they're so hard headed when it comes to that.........either way I'm glad to see that their efforts in the form of "nForce 4 SLI-IE" have failed miserably and will remaing that way.......nForever.

The only thing that's holding me back from buying the P5WD2 is the other x4 PCI-E slot. Would that make any performance hit when running in dual video card setup say compared to a true 2x16 PCI-E?

you wont see a big different between 2x 16 and 16/4. iirc it was about 2%.
