View Full Version : My New work.. Workstation. Look ok?

I decided it was better to create a new thread than spam my other one.

I just want to make sure these componets will work together before I order them.

I still havn't decided on the CPU, but lmk what you guys think. I'm about tapped out price wise so I can't go really any higher unless I have too.

P4 650 3.4ghz (2mb L2) or Pentium D 820 (2.8ghz dual core)
Asus P5DW2 Motherboard
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 533 (PC2 4200)

Those are the main things i'm concerned about, i've been out of the intel scene for so long, now with DDR2 its all :slap: .

Aopen 16x DVD Burner
Antec Neo He 430w
Antec SLK3000-B Case
Floppy Drive

Thanks for the tips. I'll stick with the neoPower or TruePower. The burner i'm not really worried about. If it goes out, i have tons in stock at work, not a big deal.

Havn't decided if i'm going to o/c it some or not. Most likely it will stay stock or i'll play with it some before I put it into use.

I was told on another forum that the Corsair Value Series never does its rated speed and to look at other ram. I'll have to look into that one.

Do not get the Aopen dvdrw, its really bad. Get a Nec, Lg, .

Guys.. The burner is the least of my worries. It will hardly get used.. its totally besides the issue and why I posted this thread. No one has seemed to comment on the real question at hand.
