Ah yes. I believe it was not so long ago everyone was revving up for the big day. PMs were being sent out on maximizing output, radio communications on where the enemies will attack and when. Teams fell, some members could not get their ammunition to work and were caught by surprise.

The Collective moved up in the final seconds and took an undeniable lead for the big win. We managed nearly 2x our score, with almost 3,000 cands TODAY !!! Needless to say Collective Members, the Borg Queen is happy, you all performed well. This...is YOUR thread

Congrats :woot: And thx To Mafia for the amazing idea, you have as much to do with increasing the total output today as anyone else :) In the heat of the battle, there can be only one winner, but here there were three :up:

We'll be up and running back to normal tomorrow for the bigger team ;) Now and forever:

yea, we'll let you keep your little saying, and just to show that im gonna be a good sport about losing, im going to add that quote into my sig for the next week. this isn't mandatory or anything, but i feel you guys won and deserve some respect, but dont think because i have your quote in my sig we wont try to beat you in the ground on a daily basis :)

i really think we should have a rematch.. but i'd like to say that we were down a couple machines.. like Vapors and DragonOrta's... but i dont wanna make excuses you won the first ever ( can i say that?) d2ol Shootout.

Congrats everyone. It was a well hard fought battle. We need to keep the production up and take down DPC.

It sure looks like its stirred intrest in the D2OL forum.

I think it would be cool if everyone joined a team. if we all made closely matched teams than it would be fun to have everyone squeezing out every last cand.

I had a good time with the mini-challenge. Hope we have more, seemed to spark some much needed interest in the overall XS team :woot:

I also think that if more members from the 2nd. page merge into sub-teams it would boost their spirits which would equal more canidates. In the long run that's what these mergers should accomplish, more canidates. :toast:

yea, sub-teams are great, i remember having fun on the second page, because myself, bullet, and vapor were competing almost daily, sad i didnt get my roommates X2 or i wouldve won... But i kept getting closer to the front page and knew the fun was about to be over, and i wanted pie. So me and bullet started talking about merging (no name @ the time) , then we decided we would need 1 other good producer to be competitive daily, so we got vapor. we all wanted to hit a few individual goals before merging, so we did all of those first, then we came up with a name FINALLY, that we all liked.

late one night about a week ago, myself, bullet, and vapor merged into the CM, dragonorta was going to talk to bullet or vapor about merging ( i think) and then he noticed that myself, bullet, and vapor were gone off of the stats and the CollegiateMafia was formed. meanwhile, all 3 of us were on an aim chatroom and bullet asks us who sent a PM to dragonorta. we had been talking about sending a PM to him earlier, but were going to wait a few days first, so it was kinda funny he contacted us first. So we merged him into the mafia. I think absolute_0 was next. then after that im unsure, Vapor would probably know.

But basically all of that is for this, All of us were good 2nd page producers not looking at getting any pie on the front page. i think we had a few low ranked 1 pagers, but we all merged together to take some pie and mix some things up a little, which i think we have done.

I for one hope the sub team idea doesn't just stop with CM and TC, For anyone else who is really interested in creating their own subteam, go for it. A lot of small but dedicated (notice<<DEDICATED) crunchers = one good, stat climbing team. not 2 mention sub teams are fun anyways.

I for one hope the sub team idea doesn't just stop with CM and TC I agree completely. Once we saw how quickly the Mafia got organized, that gave us the thrust to do the same. Both the teams accomplished in one week what most teams take about a month or more to do ;)

But it will be VERY intriguing to see where the inspiration for the next subteam comes from ;) Hmmmm... :sofa:

THe 3k a day output would put us up there with the best of xs crunchers, but The Collective isn't into short term goals ;) We believe in steady increase in output. We dont want our members' electricity bills discouraging them all of a sudden.

Quick and Steady wins the race :D :p:

We have to make the jump to 50k/day here pretty quick to catch the cows before the ball drops... :stick:

I agree, but with whats going on lately here, no one is going to let the ball drop...but lets not have the usual d2ol "hills and valley's style" seasonal enthusiasm, imo.

I don't think so but that's just my opinion. It's true that if everyone who is in the top 100 performed to their fullest, we wouldn't need subteams to boost performance, but it does seem necessary now.

Hopefully we can get in some recruits that'll fill the gap between the crunchers and the non-crunchers - conrad's all over that task :)

I got a backup PCI linksys, but I think you can get a generic faster at a local store for about 10-20$ depending on slot type. Tell us so we can find one for you cheap and nearby. :D
