Sorry I don't see any real gain here, just some 'cooking the books' in order to try to distract from a genuine competition :rolleyes:.

This just ignores the whole point of this competition which is to get OTHER non-productive people re-involved in this project for XS.

You could have picked any day to do this. The choice to do it and try to make this friendly competition insignificant shows a lack of forethought and selfishness.

This isn't even a hidden buffer, so there isn't even any gain for XS.

I'm :upset: that we have to have these kind of divisions here. However I will keep on w/ the team since I actually sorta beleive in my sig quote.

Calm down. As I see it, B_A hasn't been crunching D2OL for a while because he no longer believes in the project. He has the right to give his points to anyone he chooses. Why should you complain just because it happened on the day of the competition? I've had my #1 daily production dwarfed by point switching for a number of days now, including my first 12k day, but I'm not complaining. :)

And you're upset with me because I assimilated bachus_anonym into my account? Regardless of whether or not I "merged" with Michal, I'm still a top-producer...not just for XS...but for D2OL as a whole. I have been a top-producer since day one.

Are you going to be upset with me because it's a well known fact that all but one of my nodes are owned by my office? Will you be even more upset with me after I merge with LocalBusinessMen?

There isn't any force in the universe that would have encouraged Michael to "re-involve" himself with the project. He's out. He'll tell you that himself.

The merge option is there for a reason. Irregardless of whatever reason I chose to use it, I used it...and you have, too.

EDIT: And just for the record, I'm not competing with any of you other sub-teams. Not once did I ever make mention of it, nor do I have any intent of doing so. If we all assimilated our friends who happen to be non-producers into our accounts, it just makes for a cleaner stats page that shows nothing but active producers.

I stopped crunching and sold my farm over 6 months ago after some intense 6-month "docking" action :) I gave my points to Conrad because I know I will not be crunching again. At this point it was a great idea to clean up stats a little. Don't get mad about it, bud!

mike i dont see your logic behind it its just combinding people that are not producing anymore like BA. he wasn't producing. i was thinking this too. we should put all of the accounts that are not producing and haven't been for the last 6 months or so. i think they should go into an account for the team. yes i know that its no overall gain for the team. but i dont understand your anger. the people either have left XS and wish to leave the canidates here at XS why not put them in a team. so you can actually see who is producing and how much instead of the people with 0's for the longest time.

So you see...if you talk to the non-producers and let them know what your honest intents are, there's a good chance that they'll just decide to come back and help out. If they don't want to and no longer care, gobble up their points and clean up the stats page. We should have nothing but producers on the front page - and that's my opinion. ;)

I am very calm, just disappointed. I have no misconceptions about control of others, etc. I just hoped others would see and support the point of this instead of detracting from it. :hitself:

First oh great one :worship: we all know your output is real, I don't even consider the mergers as 'real' gains. In fact I was looking in the d2ol.com stats to see what our real gains were (about 1000-1200 the first few days)
Yeah moving up was fun. But the banter was what made it worthwhile and I :clap: The CollegiateMafia for coming up w/ this competition, and have 'nothin but Respect' for them. I saw this as something positive. I am hoping that this will fire up our dormant masses and get them back into the game (anyone notice the suggestion for 'Hatfields & McCoys' b4)

I also respect the output that the top people do, and they should be confident enough in their wonderful contributions not to be threatened by a few people with the above-mentioned goal in mind.
We're not after them, we're after the :cow:s !!!

I am frustrated by the fact that a publicized attempt to liven up D2OL is falling apart.
This was supposed to fun and exciting, just like a sport, with competition back and forth and the occasional 'spinout' (I just had to reinstall D2ol again since for some reason my 'stable' machine is suddenly possessed after I turned it off for the cleaning lady day on Tuesday; until then I had left it alone since it was running perfectly :brick: :shrug: so fix 'in the pits' and move on). Now it's just XSTC and XSCM, with our jumble of hastily assembled stuff, which we all hope to be able to stabilize at this level for at least until we get the :cow:s.
They and the diseases we are trying to zap with all this are the 'bad things'.

We are all supposed to be on the same side, and right now DPC is probably laughing.

Maybe in the future we can build more positively on something like this instead of people looking & thinking 'what's the point' because then there is none. If no one supports what we're trying to do, then resistance is futile.

Time will tell. I am sure everyone will disagree w/ me, so what :D

well, its not like any of us have the output to catch you right now anyways, so whats a few more candidates on top of the already #1 producer in the world. If it helps us BBQ DPC any faster, great. If its a special 1.5mil merger, how about you wait till christmas day to merge? that would be a good present for us all :toast:

I just shot off a PM to Kazoo. I'm hoping that she'll get back in the game rather than surrender her candidates.

I'm a member of other forums that have absolutely nothing to do with computers. I'm going to try and see if members off-site will be willing to crunch for our team. We need to look into recruiting outside of XtremeSystems. We have made so many attempts to talk members of our own XS family into crunching for the team. This isn't to say that we should give up on our own homefront, but in order to take the #1 spot prior to year's end calls for other measures.

mad mikee - I hope you bear no hard feelings against me. My love has always been for XS. There was a time when I almost threw in the towel as far as D2OL goes. Some people may recall that day when it almost happened. I stayed simply for the fact that we had a common goal: become #1.

Although I have been on hiatus from overclocking for several months now...although I am no longer as active of a member I once was...although I only moderate our forum when time permits...my heart is still with XS. This is home to me and I only want the best for this site - not just for our D2OL team, but for XtremeSystems as a whole.

If the majority of you object to my assimilation of bachus_anonym, let it be known and I will change my name to Strictly_Business in an effort to prove that this was not done for selfish reasons. As mentioned earlier, my goal was to either convince non-producers to get back in the game or give up their candidates in order to clean out the non-producers from the stats page. Never was it my intention to gain anything from XS other than knowledge and a few virtual friends. I have reviewed hardware with my own money. I have donated hardware to those in need. I have given freely to worthy causes mentioned on-site. It's always been about XtremeSystems for me. ALWAYS. :)

He's our team leader, and the founder of this great team :) Whether its the daily blurbs every morning or at lunch, keeping the team organized was his main objective in this competition and he did it wonderfully.

Congrats to everyone who participated...I for one, am going to bed lol :p: Perhaps a rematch some other time (not tomorrow :( )

I am not a participant of any past, present, or future sub-team competitions - be it friendly or not. This has always been a "for XS" deal as far as I'm concerned. I joined up with the DIMES team as soon as XS decided to officially support it. I had every intent to install it on every system at work in order to push the XS name to the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, our network wouldn't allow for it. :(

Okay. Now it's time for me to get back to recruiting. Wish me luck, folks. :rocker:

Heck, with the latest competition, I'd just like DPC to know that the members have the determination to increase their output up to 2x their normal rate when asked to, this isnt the team there looking at when they first took the dump. Keep yer eye on the stats DPC, Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...me likes BBQ under my Christmas tree. ;)

I do like the ressurecting Idea though. We should PM all the Non Crunchers and ask them to reinstate their crunching machines. BTW the moment this team makes a overall decision off all hands to battle stations, full power ahead (we are not at full force people, full force from all the actve crunchers here would mean we do 60k per day. And I'm not BS you on that.

The moment that decision is made I'll power up my treat I have as a leftover. It won't do to much of damage but It'll be good for another 150 cands a day if I play it right.

I long for the day that we open up with all broadsides on DPC but we'll see.

Untill that time, my humble 2Ghz Dothan (well sonoma to be exact) and Dual Xeon at 2ghz will have to suffice.

Btw it's good to get rid of the "dead wood" if I may call it that. It cleans up the stats. Bachus is a great guy but I see no profit in his points just floating in the ether there... better that he give them to someone of his personal choice.

Now Mad Mikee stop being a cry baby and get crunching already. Don't whine, crunch so hard you'll school'm

I don't know where you got the 60k figure from, but my 45 rigs(including 32 DXs) are already going at full force. Are you telling me that the rest of the active crunchers can almost double their output if they choose to? I don't know about that, but I do know that you should power on your third rig and lead by example.

I'm very willing to do so but the problem is I don't have the room to house it. I can't do it at home because my mom insists I shut the comps off when I'm at school (so at the dorm :) ) and at my dorm itsself... well gimme a month to see if I use a lot of electricity and if not I might bring the rig over here and let it crunch here. And I know YOU are at full power. But my Xeons can go a LOT higher if I get a new PSU (money is the key isseu here)

and I need some RAM and a housing to put the third rig in so thats another 100 euros (50 for 512 MB Ram and 50 for a case)

the power the thing consumes (its my old AXP barton rig @ 2400mhz POWA :) ) is the thing I'm worried about. I don't want to pay even more for electricity at my dorm as it is.

And the 60K. We are at 40k Daily now no?
If everyones comps would be OC'd/tweaked thouroughly and all the Xeons, X2's etc would be clocked at a good level I can tell you now we can do 50K handsdown and if we really try 55k I admit 60k Was a bit over the top but we can surely increase the output by 10k daily. Problem is that not a whole lot of people have the room or the money to pay the electrical bills.

But don't you worry DDT, I plan on getting the AXP up and running, I just don't know where and when.

But I understand in B_A's case that wasn't going to happen... so this is a good thing.

Well, fridays and saturdays are not my biggest cruching days, since all my rigs at the office just buffer ( some com. issue ). Sunday on the other hand :slapass:

Redp5 just sent me an e-mail stating that he no longer has any interest in the D2OL project. He, along with his wife, are on the FaD project. If we pick up on FaD in the future, we'll be seeing him again. :up:

I have quite a few Borg machines that I was running D2OL on (a.k.a. ...not mine) that aren't running. First chance I get to re-borg them I will do so.

I'm back... but the pie is out of my reach (speaking realistically) This team has really taken off! With my current output I used to be the top 3 or 4 producer daily... Now that production is lucky to get me in the top 10 daily. I have SERIOUSLY hit a wall here. If I add a single PC ANYWHERE in my house it will trip a breaker. And running against the power limits like that 24/7 just isn't safe :( (Granted... it's all 100% insured and if it all went up in smoke I would do a happy dance! :banana: :fact: ) I rent so I can't do anything with the wiring :( I mean just this morning I turned on my 21" monitor and it tripped my breaker! Without the Air Conditioners running I can run a lot more PC power (They are off now so I can run at 100%) I gotta figure something else out for living arrangements here soon!

On the off site idle nodes...
It's actually not as bad as I once thought! I only have a couple nodes down.

Yea... he left because DPC started to make a run at them. (Or Free-DC... can't really recall for sure) I wonder what the satus of that battle is?

Only if you start running multipul Virtual machines, it can only use 1 client per OS you see. Look here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73665 and that should give you the info you need.

We have just entered the top 8 now so we arent doing bad. Its good as it can be run on old boxes as well as new boxes. Im sure you got some PIIs like the rest of us just laying there looking for a reason to be on.....lol
