hi all, could do with some help here. my retailer will not cover rma.long story . i need to iether reflash the biose chip or buy a new one.where can i buy a new chip? anyone have a dead board with a good biose in it , icould buy. please help . send me a mail if you can help me out. thanks

Can't you reflash it from the support CD? ,get access to another computer and run off a copy of the original bios from the support CD, put onto floppy and boot from that.

ive tried everything,cant get into cmos or anything. maybe someone could reflash the chip for me? the fans spin and harddrives ,but thats it.nothing on screen.

you could RMA to ASUS or possibly order a bios chip from them.

ive tried ,they said i should send it to my retailer. and they wont rma .this is starting to piss me off.sorry the language,but it takes like 2 days and get an answer from asus every time i write to them.

You can buy a new chip pre-flashed .... here is one place, a google search will turn up a lot more. bios chips (http://www.biosman.com/replacement.htm)

You could hot flash it in another board, but that's a little risky, again a google search will tell you how to do that.

Have you tried http://www.badflash.com/ - they say they ship anywhere in the worrld.

make up some other problem you have with the board to the retail. Instead of saying a dead chip say it wont run dual channel or something..
