When my friend is playing Battle Field it freezes all the time, and hes got CPU temps all the way up to 55 C. He cleared the CMOS and redid the BIOS but still encountering the same problem. My friend said that he's going to turn on Cool'n'Quiet Technology so when he's not running high demending process my CPU can relaxe a bit.

My friends spec's are as follows:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA
OCZ OCZ520ADJ 520W
NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A
CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory
ABIT Fatal1ty AN8-SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
XFX PVT70GUDF7 Geforce 7800GT
Lian Li PC-65B Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
He reformatted and installed windows. So everything is at stock spec's. He also didn't OC (in his words) because he really didn't see any improvements.

He also has a seperate bought fan/heatsink but he could only get it to work after modding it a bit and he didn't like it. He thought it was too much load on the MOBO at the time.

thats his/your problem, aftermarket HSFs arent always great unless the specs on them are for a CPU HIGHER than what your running it on...... I know because though I had a 2000+ AXP And I had a Tt Volcano 7 it still ran like crap, meaning 60C load in the summer time, and around 54C load in the winter.... I would have to suggest using the Stock HSF or buying a better one.... like a Thermalright XP-90C or a XP-120 with a high flow 90mm fan for the 90c and a highflow 120mm fan for the 120... IMO
