I keep on getting the same error every minute:
15/10/05 16:51 dimes.state.user.UpdateDetailsHandler generalUpdate
WARNING: Error while connecting server : Could not connect. underlying exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Maybe the server is down?

or has it something to do with my IT connection?

Mine are still running too but the stats haven't been updated since last night.

that is only a question that time will tell
also I would like to know if their server isn't up can we still dime? or is there any way of getting like a buffer and saving them till its back up and opperational or is there no way of doing that?
and if its possible can we download some to your home computer and then install it to another computer that sits offline (doesn't have the internet and has 2 smaller childern) and give it to them so they can run it too?
**Note**this computer isn't at my house and i have the owners permission to do this.

If the servers offline you cant dime. If the servers online, but the stats arent registering then you can.
By offline I mean the error messages as seen above

the most important requirement for the client is to have an internet connection, because it's the internet that we are "investegating" ;) So it would have no use putting this client on an off-line computer...

Keep up the good work!
I'm shooting for 2k a day :toast:

Joy, its died again :(
Maybe the popularity of DIMES has overcome the servers capacity :(

I'm trying to get started here... are the servers down? How will I know when this thing is doing work? How do I know if I'm buffering?

If the little "cactus" has nodes coming off it you're fine. It upates once an hour or so, so may take a little time to register work.

As long as you have nodes off the "cactus" then you're fine :D

How will I know if it stops?

Where can i see (from the agent) how many hits it has?

Also... When i do a "check blocking" ICMP is blocked... and I get an NIS warning.
