Hi guys, I was selecting a new DDR1 memory to buy on my AMD64 rig and deside from the GEIl's ultra -X and Crucial's Ballistix. Does anyone have any expieriences with these modules? Are the Micron chips on the Ballistix good? Or do the Ballistix still have Micron chips? What chips do the Ultra-X have? Please help - I need a stable, fast mem thats good for OC. Anything that helps is welcome

Are you sure that the Ultra-X have BH-5 chips? That would be fantastic!

I think you're right with that, I wont Vmod my mobo.
1. But on the net I've lots of people telling that the ultra-x are relabeled TCCD's? Whats the truth - are the ultra-x BH5 or TCCD?
2. I#ve seen that the Ballistix have very good timings to about 533DDR freq. , but dont get much high fregs. For me would low latency timigs be far more importent than high frequencies.
3. I was wondering why the Ballistix are normally rated at 2.8Vdimm but when somebody OCs them, he uses 2.65, 2.7 and so .... why?

I think you can save yourself some money and get the OCZ EL Platinum which the egg and a few other places have with a mail-in rebate right now. For application performance and for support these will do very fine.
BTW, the Ballistix have, for whatever reason, extremely conservative SPD timings. My 256 MB stick does 2-2-2-5 at 200 MHz, but it defaults to 3-4-4-8. Not sure what is up with that.

Then get the Ballistix
BH-5 does no good for a unmodded board
