The monitor has just arrived.

It's currently at 1280×1024 @ 60Hz -> DVI.

I tested Doom3 and NFSU2, even at 1024×768 set in the game both of them are PERFECT.

But the gameplay at Quake3 is not veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery good. It's fine, but could be better. The aim is perfect, but the environment seems a bit slow. I'm almost sure that it's because Q3 needs 125fps to run smoothly.

Is there any tips in the Quake3 config or any driver to help me?

My VideoCard is Gigabyte 6600GT and its driver is currently 7772.

Is there any software to test the response time?

Thank you... very much.

Are you saying it's a monitor issue or an issue with your video card/system?

If it's a monitor issue, then no.. there's nothing you can do about it except get a new monitor.

If it's a video card/system issue.. then yes, you can always upgrade or optimize something.

And I don't believe there is any program to test the response time of a monitor... but you can rest assured that you didn't get a monitor from a bad batch of slower response timed ones. The values you find on the website or the specs that came with it should be true (enough - there is as yet no true universal testing standard).

No, the monitor is perfect. But the Q3 is a bit strange... only this.

UT2003, Doom3 and NFSU2 are perfect.

Try changing to the resolution down to 1024x768, and the refresh rate to 85hz or 100hz or whatever youre moniter supports. Some games only run in sync with the moniters refresh rates, even when Vsync is off.

Unless that Moniter is an LCD, then keep it on its native resolution, go check out the specs on the manafacture's website, if the response time is high then 20ms then that might be the problem. I could be wrong tho as im still sorta a noob to LCD's, I prefer the clarity of a CRT moniter which LCD's dont have.

LCDs are clearer than CRTs. They just blur from motion very easily. A LCD has each point of light controlled, a CRT fires 3 guns and just hopes they are aligned.

I can't afford 5000$ for a monitor though, so I'm sticking with my GDM-F520s for now. As soon as Apple drops their prices into the sub 1000$ range I'll pick one up.

The LCD guide only lists the Apple display. Which Dell monitor were you referring to?

Get a better graphics card and crank the settings up...
Or say with your current card and crank the settings to the floor...
