Hello helloooo, I have a question to anyone with experience with any gpu sinks.

Just got my GTO, flashed it, all is gravy, but it hit 77c while artifact scanning, which we all know is very unacceptable, so the stock cooling needs to go. I had a zalman gpu alum/copper cooler on my x800pro before but it didn't help much (~5c from stock cooling), so I want to know if there's anything better out there, short of water cooling. If the copper is any better then the alum/copper then lmk =)

Thanks for the help guys :toast:

I'd say, get a good CPU heatsink on eBay for a few bucks and mod it to fit the Radeon. That would be the best GPU heatsink for sure. But if you want to go with aftermarket products, perhaps the Thermalright V1 (if it fits) would be an alternative.

Arctic Silencer (not sure of the number) is about as good as the stock X850XTpe cooler....you could try that, shame they don't have a non-Silencer version though, I'd take the extra noise in exchange for more cooling performance for sure.

what would you guys say would be the best cpu cooler to mod to fit a gfx card? (obviously the xp-120 or BT would be too heavy?)

Did you try this Zalman? So far I have read only good things about it.
I'm expecting one next week for my X800XT.
