I have an old hp pavilion, and a slightly newer pci vid card that aren't being used right now. The computer works fine, but I cant use the card because I need a 250 watt power supply but the pavilion conveniently does not, its 185 watt.

So my question is. The mother board looks like an atx, but I was wondering if hp did anything like reverse the lines where I could not use a regular power supply? Its a 67** series ( not sure what the modle number is Im at work at the moment), bought in 2000.

Try it, nVidia recommended 550W supplies with 6800 Ultras and people were running them fine with a decent brand 350W.

So I should not have a problem with an atx power supply. Cool, thanks.

I never said that, I said try the card with what you have. If I'm not mistaken HP still had proprietary PSU's then.
