hi there,

in new around here and so far i like what see :D

anyway, i have a wrt54g v1.1 wireless router and have got a firmware mod that allows the transmit power to go from the standard 28 all the way up to 251.

however it is very unstable at these power levels and i was wondering what my options are to keep this thing cool whilst keeping at that setting.

thanks for any input people,

take it out of the case and point fans at it

thats cool. i like seeing people's projects that nobody else is doing. i'd suggest finding sinks for any voltage controllers on the board or any other hot part, and as iyp says, point some fans at it. the fans are probably all you need.

take it out of its plastic case, mount it in a shoebox and cut holes in the side for in/out fans

Like other people suggest, take it out of the case and then just have some fans blowing on it. That's pretty hardcore dude, modding a router :) nice
