I bought my machine from Monarch (the on in my sig) in April. Problems started with BSOD's in what in the end turned out to be memory. At first it was thought it might be vid card but that was not the problem. I RMA'd the card and got a new one. Put it in, and bam...the machine would not post. I am not sure what I did but it was not much (no I did not kick it) and the machine started. Fine...that is when I realized it was memory. RMA2.
Memory comes back and it wont post AGAIN. This time I was unable to get the machine to post EVER. Tried resetting CMOS, replacing only one stick of memory (Patriot) and just about everything else. Contacted Monarch and they told me to RMA the entire machine. Did that the day I got the RMA and they said they had no problems powering up the machine when they got itbut the RMA memory (Patriot mem) was bad and so they decided to replace it with (1 GB (2 pcs 512) DDR (400) PC-3200 Corsair XMS (TwinX1024-3200C2PT) ). I got the machine on Friday after they said they ran tests on it and replaced the CMOS battery.
Bring it up on Friday evening, no dice. Machine won't post and nothing I do will work. I took it to different power cords, power sources and even brought to work and nothing seemed to get the machine to post.
When I plug in the machine I get two amber LED's. One at the memory the other by the PCI. When I hit power, I get nada. It flashes for a 1/3 of a second and then nothing. The Amber lights stay on.
What are the steps I should do as if I just got this machine put together to get it to post? Can someone forward me a proven set of steps. I have seen others at Monarch with this mobo complain about posting problems.
Thanks,
