I know this is all the threads you get here, but anyway, I have about £100 to spend, and I want a case, mainly as I'm jealous of how my friends PC looks.
So, what stands out to me is, the Thermaltake range - the tsunami and Kandalf. The stacker is nice, but I would prefer a bit more style, and they are hard to find - especially with the window.
So is there any other cases to look at?
I want:
-a big window
-great cooling
-to be big
-quiet - mutes sound well - will have 30-40 or so db fans in it
-don't mind if aluminium or steel
-cheaper - better - but not cheap materials (why I don't like the soprano)
Also, is the Hiper type R any good? (580w) any other recomendations? Has to have removerable cables.
Thanks.
Edit: Ther standard fans that come with the Thermaltake, do they speed up, and slow down depending on heat? Otherwise, I may replace them with some powerful ones.

I can't speak to cases, I have been mocked because of my taste in PC cases before. But if you absolutely NEED a removeable cable PSU, the Modstream from OCZ and the Ultra X-connect both got decent reviews though not nearly as good as the regular PSU's did.
Happy building !

I don't really like Lian-Li
Any other cases?
Is the Hiper type R any good? I know that Tomshardware stress test it failed, but so did nearly all the good ones (including the OCZ powerstream!) Atleast the Type R stayed on as well. :p

Lol, that is what my friend has, that's the case I'm jealous of :p But, I don't want to have the same case.
Everytime I read a review of the Kandalf I like it more, no I love it more.
All I got to do is wait for Overclockers to send me backa new graphics card. (It overheated while playing FEAR, and I don't have full packaging. (They say they may refuse replacement w/o it. :(

Go with your gut feeling then ;)
Seriously tho, that case is teh win, even if you do have to copy your friend on this one!

yeah, you could be uber-elite and get a coolermaster ATC or early Praetorian imported or second hand, finest cases on earth IMO :slapass: Cooler Master axed the ATCS devision and stopped making the Praetorian clones...

^^ Don't really like them, and it doesn't have 120mm fans. :(
This little add-on has got expensive (expecially with xmas so close.) I want to get another hdd for RAID 0.

I have ordered a Kandalf (aluminium), Hiper type R and watercooling (Yes, he has watercooling as well... but he was the one who persuaded me to, so I don't have the load fans in the case.
The point of this post is, what cathodes coloured or UV? Basically, I want everything inside that is UV reactive to glow, but I want the underneath of my table and the front to be lit(?) up - (when door is open)

And....
Its huge :D :D :D
I have now put it all back together. Borrowed a graphics card from a friend but it only has DVI outputs, so I can't see if it works (doesn't have a internal speaker strangely - but I never liked them.)
The case has been the best one to work with, it is soo nice having enough room to manouver everything around.
I have also had a email from overclockers and they have refunded me £200 (original cost of my 6800) and I will probally get a 7800 gt and a new motherboard.
Also, there is some air trapped in the water cooling block. How do I get it all out?

put the block as the lowest part of your loop and run the pump, the air should work its way up to your t-line or res.
And as long a you like the case its a good choice.
