If you know any info on unlocking or modding an ABIT AV8 mobo, please let me know. It won't let me change the multiplier.

Thanks

I have this board and it will be the last Abit I ever own. However, have you tried the .24 BIOS from their site? If you haven't you need to get FlashMenu and update your BIOS, that is unless you like doing it through DOS. Here's a list of my problems and I hope you have better luck, or can stand the aggrivation...
1. The AGP lock breaks after 255 Mhz. Even setting the CPU/AGP/PCI frequency to allow for the higher FSB frequency the lock still breaks while the AGP card is set at 66Mhz.
2. The onboard NIC is worthless, I am currently using a $4 NIC and it is faster, smoother, and allows for better download speeds.
3. The board overvolts everything by .05V. While that may not seem like much it is more than I want. They probably did this to hope for better stability.
4. There is no way, other than a Multimeter to monitor your 12V rails. The uGuru utility is worthless, it is also a resource hog.
5. Up until the .24 BIOS the CPU temp was around 10 degrees off. I don't know how much AS5 I wasted until I figured out it was the sensor.
All and all I rank my 1st and last Abit experience in line with a PCChips board I had a long time ago.

You can't period... unless you put your CPU by an ashtray for a couple months
