How to setup a WLAN Router ??

Hi guys !! I have a Wlan Broadband router LINKSYS
This is the first time i use the router so i duno how to setup it !! :D

I follow the manual , and go to http://192.168.1.1 but it didnt work :confused:

So anyone experience with this router can help me ? Any advice will be appriciated !!! Thx in advanced :toast:

Unhook the cable that goes to your cable modem or DSL modem. Hook up one PC only to the router.

First thing is to reset that router by pressing the reset button to restore factory defaults. Make sure the NIC on your PC is active and working and that the cable is good. when the router has reset, reset you pc and see if it obtains an address from the router.

You can do that by dropping to the command prompt and typing IPCONFIG... (I know there are other ways, that one is fastest) you should have an IP on this only connected computer of 192.168.1.100 . If you are not getting an IP in this range, something is wrong, try another ethernet port and check again. when you have that connection, you should be able to get into your config screen at 192.168.1.1

Ugly, remember that in most Linksys routers DHCP is disabled by default...

ok guys :D thx for advice , indeed the s*cking router is broken and i returned it and have a new one now , it works :toast:
