I picked up a used wc system from a guy over at anandtech's FS/T forum about a year back. It was going to be for a friend, but he backed ouf from buying the system.

I've finally desided that I'm going to do something with the system. It's got a home made CPU block, homemade resevior, a heater core that's 15cmx15cm +the barbs, and a ViaAqua VA-1300. I also recieved 1/2" hose, It's about 1/4" thick and slightly yellow. The waterblock is blue and looks to be AL from the color of the metal underneath. The block looks rough but actually feels pretty smooth.

Anywho, The tubing, resevior has quite a bit (Ok maybe just a little, but still too much for my likings) of white-ish grey build-up inside. The heater core has a good coating on the fins of a white substance, and a whiteish grey&green buildup on the inside of the barbs. The barbs of the CPU block has a good coating of whitestuff as well.

I presume this is tapwater buildup? What's the best way to get rid of it?

There was some sort of apoxy/glue like stuff. What should I use to replace this stuff? Should I open the home made block and cleaning/reseal it? No I don't know if any of it leaks, but I'd rather dismantle it and be sure for most of it. Anything else I should worry about?

I'm expecting to just use this as a silent cooling option, but it would be great if I could get any OC out of it. I'd like to get it set up and ready to sell if I can.

I'll see if I can put up pics later.

Thanks for the help.
