I have a 7800gt and was needing to get a bigger monitor, but what about a tv instead? what are the pros and cons of a tv compared to a monitor for playing games?

TV: slow, low-res (I thought around 600x400), bad contrast, large
Monitor: everything the tv hasn't: quite fast, high-res, good contrast, etc.

I know that the tv is cheaper and has a larger diameter, but go for the monitor, I would say, especially when you have a 7800. The tv just doesn't show all the details the 7800 can produce...

Yeah, I was using a TV for awhile but got quickly frustrated with the poor quality. Not bad if you're playing Pong though.
