it seems like the fill-cap on my MCRES-525 can't really seal very well, and the coolants seeps out a little from around it from time to time. The instruction that came with the kit says not to tighten it down too much, but obviously that's not working very well. I've tried to tighten it down as much as I can, but it still leaks a little.

Any idea on what I can do to fix this?

i had to tighten mine down a lot before it stopped leaking. you won't crack anything in that area. it's the hose barbs you gotta watch out for. my hose barbs leaked... then the leak just sort of... disappeared o.O?

soooo.... i took out the res and when i get this 'puter put back together i'll be using a T-line.

my dual floppy bay res didn't even come with a proper sized cap, even after emails to frozencpu they sent me the wrong size again so i just decided...F' it, i sealed it up tight with shipping tape, haha

probably not the best idea...think i'm gonna go T-line too

the new mcres micro from swiftech should fix the problem of leaking seals. they include the same barbs that come on the storm block, along with rubber o-rings to create a water-tight seal.

im really liking this res.

yea that new res does look pretty spiffy. i like it a lot. but i'm still going to go t-line when i get my loop back up.

i JB welded all three ports on my swifty bayrse b/c i just had a feeling they were going to leak like no other. Best thin you can do is invest $4.00 and gob up the threads with some weld and 4 minutes later your in business :banana:

how about using some teflon tape around the threads on the barbs??? every single one of mine have it around the barbs, even on my new stormG4 :)

no leaks yet....

not just some :) ... use a lot of teflon tape :P ... one of the barbs started leaking after about 6 days of use; it seems that I didn't used enough teflon tape for it;

Sorry for the threadcrap.... Storms didnt need teflon tape on its barb, has a rubber o-ring seal...

I use teflon tape on my MCRES 5.25 and ala no leaks yet, still pissed at frozen cpu for not giving me the cap to plug off the extra threaded hole.

I used teflon tape on my HDPE res and it cracked along the seams and leaked six months later!

Got another and used GOOP plumber's sealant...............so far so good

i received mine the other day. mcres micro does look very nice and it doesnt take up a whole 5.25 slot. No problem mounting it and easier to fill.
