It also seems this can be hacked for older cards too, ie 9xx series (if the card can handle the performance hit)

yeah, I did this thursday night, enabled it using ATI Tray Tools, haven't really noticed much of a difference.

this program shows you exactly where you have to change your registry, it is really helpful.

The difference between normal AA and transparancy AA is really good to see. But after enabling it, I can´t play HL2 with P4 EE and X800 XT PE smooth.

I think it´s better to wait for ATI Cards with Hardware Support for TAA if you want to use it.

Edited: Ok, I figured it out after searching the original thread more. You must set the "ASTT_NA" value to 0, then create a "ASTT" string value and set it to 1. Then, most importantly, you need to reboot.

Can someone please post a screen shot of their reg editor open with the correct value? I can't seem to figure this out for some reason. Thanks.

I too enabled it using ATI Tray Tools, i noticed a little difference in HL2 but there was a bigger difference as far as image quality in Far Cry.

I'm considering doing this...how much of a performance hit will I take and is it worth it ...also couldn't we also do things to increase our FPS...idk

i've done it with my socket A 9800XT rig...

it slows BF2 down quite a bit, but not enough to hurt gameplay.

Once the reg hack's been done is there any way to enable this without using CCC? Its a bloaty piece of crap, don't really want to install it just to get A-AAA
