Well, it's about 3 days to the last quarter of 2005, so I'm putting up a poll for some of the most notorious CPU coolers out right now. Please vote based on what you feel taking in to account things like noise, cooling, looks, mobo compatiblity... we're going for best overall here.

sonic tower , because you can mount 3 silent nexus fans for the same air flow as 1 noisy fan .(~110cfm)
TT big typhon....i love mine....it was holding a 26idle the otherday.....but it was unusualy cold
TT Big Typhoon without a doubt, 10c lower temperature than with my XP120 and 1800rpm fan. Oh, did I mention that the fan on the TT didnt go over 750rpm because the cpu was so cold? :D

Asetek Micro for it`s small footprint and low weight. Made my "passive" cooling solution possible here in this tread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73430

Yeah... I think we can all agree that any of these coolers would be more than sufficient for a Pentium 3 (assuming you could mount it properly).

Yep, I was one of the first to piont out how bad they were, and any little (Well, really big sometimes) flaws.
Read an awful lot of reviews about the TT Big Typhoon, and ordered one on the back of it.
Not as big as the Sonic Tower, but still Mental, and I think that a 120mm Delta would be a good laugh on it

Do those I-plates for the BT bend and flex when tightened??

yes the top one bends when you really crank on the pressure (I do even on a nekkid core) it has some spring like tendancies...I don't use the bottom one. I have relegated my Intel computer to stock cooling only :slapass:

Sorry this doesn't have to do much with the thread, can't resist tho
There aint anything wrong with Thermaltake comp cases, has always been my fav comp case manufacturer, but the cooling section hasn't been too bright indeed until BT shapes it up quite a lot.
Basicly I like any TT comp case, Armor, Kandalf, Shark, Xavier, Tsunami Dream, Tai-Chi etc. But I say there's 2 different comp ppl in this world... those who like Lian Li and those who like Thermaltake. Lian Li has great quality yes but I don't like the looks of any of them. :)

I like my old school Si-97 with custom mounting for 939 remaid the hole base (un solderd and milled a new on with a Cu bottom and Al top and put it back together with white thermal paste when i get more AS5 that is what is going to be used to maybe drop temps another few deg..but over my XP90 i get 3-5 lower temps on load!!

What do you think about Tuniq Tower 120? Is better than typhoon?
Kasparz

Sonic tower 120 plus 2xBT fans are average 1-2C better than BT, but MUCH larger. BT cool pwmic area better through.
