Hey everybody
I have had this problem ever since I put my computer together. Whenever i right click on icons to see my options (copy, options, sent to....) it lags. It takes like 7 sec to show the drop down menu. How do I fix this. It is very annoying and frustrating.

even if norton does hog a lot of resources I am pretty sure that isn't my problem because the problem started before nortan was installed and i dont think nortan would slow it that bad seeing my previous computer had very :banana::banana::banana:ty parts and nortan and didn't have this problem

Get rid of weather bug for the love of god. Delete that thing, Do a virus scan, do a spyware scan, and get firefox and get the accuweather plugin. omg weatherbug...

:banana::banana::banana: that kid. First off all I cant reformat because my dad wont give me the xp disk (wich is a update from 98 so i have to install both) and second of all i have no way to back up the 40 gigs of photoshop files ect. on my computer until i get a externam hd. So if anyone knows a way to solve this problem without reformating.
I have had this problem when all i had installed on my computer was xp.

you screwed yourself when you decided it was a good idea to install weatherbug on your computer. Get rid of it.

Besides that, it can be normal, depending on how much ram you have and stuff.

Ya I just got rid of wather bug. I have a gig of ddr2 ram dual channel. Maybe I just got some bad ram or something. But if it is normal that sucks

It could be slightly normal cause I was experimenting. I had this program open showing my ram and cpu usage and when I right clicked nothing really changed. After waiting the 7 sec for the options to show i could click on other ones without and time to wait. It is like it has to load something and then whatever folder i am in i can right click fast.

40GB of photoshop files! Have you defragged your hard-drive at all?

You could also download registry mechanic and see if that helps in speeding up your PC.
