never lapped a cpu before but really needed to cool my cpu, currently cooled with a less than brilliant Volcano 7+....
Anyway a 10 min lap with 1200 grit made me abut 3c cooler, well worth the effort.

PS was thinking of changing cpu cooler, my shortlist is

1.Alpha P4 Cooler
2.Swiftec P4 Cooler

any other options ?

I used to do Seti for TPR (same team as Jeff) but got a little bored, so joined your fteam :-)

Need to try and get a better overclock tho...

I am on my 4th unit :-)

Currently trying to twist arms to get myself a promethia, how ever the P4T533 cpu socket is a little too low for promethia so needs some thought.

Plus we all know am gonna have to do a Pilsy (TM) Mod :-)

PS you have a P4T533 ?, whats your 12v Line like ?

Id get another heatsink. I wasnt to impressed with the volcano 7+'s. They seem to work better on AMD's. I replaced an AVC sunflower cooler with the 7+ and it ran hotter. Putting and alpha on it over the 7+ dropped me 7C while folding. Cheap quiet case fans also. no hair dryer fan.
