I just got a new x800xt pe (agp) back from ATI from an RMA. Now the card seems to work fine at stock (ran atiTool one night and 3dmark03 another night) without crashing. The problem is when trying to overclock. For some reason instead of causing a system lockup or snow, the card just turns off leaving the computer still running. I know the rest of the computer is still running fine because I can type in key commands to get it to reboot (also my music kept playing all night). Any ideas on what might be causing this?

i am experiencing the same thing with my x800xt that i ordered refurbished off newegg that ended up being an x800xt pe. the default clock speeds for XT PE are too much for it to handle so i set atitool to start up when windows starts and auto set the clock settings to XT speeds (500/500) and it runs fine. in fact i can get my ram clock up to 550 but as soon as i move that core clock speed up it turns off just like yours. I'm shipping it back for a replacement this week that hopefully will not do the same but i have a bad feeling that that is why this card is so cheap on newegg. If i were you i would definitely return it since you paid for an XT PE
