I have a X800XT and due to poor clamp install had a small leak and messed up the card. The card powers up just fine but has artifacts all over. :(

SHould be an easy fix but ATI or Gateway won't touch it.

So I need to find a video repair place that can test and fix ATI cards.

suggestions please

Try to remove and reinstall the drivers, it may not work for you but a looooong time ago I had condensation problems and water leaked thru my GF2 MX onto my NIC, artifacts all over the place.

Well the card was already modded to a Quadro with a switch, so I turned off my rig, flipped the switch and windows found a new card, installed the drivers and everything was fine, so I uninstalled the other drivers and reinstalled them...no more artifacts.

You may also want to check if there's any corrosion in the AGP/PCI-E slot or on the card (Apparantly I was having problems for quite a while, corrosion in the CPU socket, AGP slot and on the card :slap: ).

just wash it with rubbing alcohol and let it dry for a while
edit: use a toothbrush or very non-abrasive wirebrush

Get some distilled water and pour some on the card and scrub the hell out of it. Let it completely dry and try it again.

Some people go as far as throw them in dishwashers then put them in the oven. I'm not recommending either.
