Tried flashing several BIOses with the modified flashrom with no luck. For now, it seems that is impossible lo unlock the remain pipelines on the R480 based GTs.

Do you tray to connect 16p pins and flash x800XL bios?
I got a R423 GeCube DDR3 version... by connecting the cut bridge I managed to get 12x1 too.... but If I try the BIOS flash (for a possible 16x1) the picture would go all messed up.... no matter what BIOS i try... Sapphire, ATI, Gecube - all X800XL or X800Pro/XT....
btw. the card uses Infineon 2.0ns memory... tried and matched its timings with some of those Samsung 2.0ns based BIOSes.... still fooked up picture...

Yep, good luck, i wait my x800gt R423, IMO this week it will be mine :D
Well I'm really angry that the BIOS won't update... I mean correctly... the interesting part is that if I manage somehow boot into windows with some BIOS that will allow me to see something on the screen the Windows is recognising the new card as X800SE.... with a X800XT BIOS.... damn...

not bad, but you can go further with X800GT
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1228813
that's the result of PITer from www.tweak.pl
BTW of modding
as far as I know:
blue PCB, "X800se" on die - possible @12 mod (laser cut connecting, bios swap not helping), about 50% chance
red PCB, "X800se" on die - possible @12 mod (laser cut connecting, bios swap not helping)
red PCB,without "X800se" on die - possible @12 and @16 mod (with X800XL bios ) 10% or less chance of 16 working pipelines
there's no chance to mod R480 :slap:
