What i have heared ATi is going to do everything to have r520 available at launch. Like G70. Atleast the X1800XL.

Paper Launch "TAKE 37"

As for new King you mean bencher or company?

bencher , for be honest im not admirer companys, ati/nvidia that is really donot matter for me, jest the benche.

i know and read the rumors (16/32 pipes), but i am really believe that the new card will be better than the 7800gtx.

i have a weird feeling about this countdown and all..

ati always launched their new cards without any countdowns iirc, same for nvidia, they only did this for nv30 wich we all know sucked. does this mean r520 wont be as good of a performer so they try to create more hype through a countdown?
and they mention avivo and improved hd video playback and the improved memory controller as features. those are all features nobody really cares about. so why do they mention this? to distract the view from the performence of the card once it gets released?

same thing intel did, when their prescotts couldnt kep up with the a4s in games they started talking about features insead of performence...

im not saying it will be slower than the 7800gtx, of course it will beat it, but by how much? and we all know nvidia will launch a 7800ultra to beat the 24pipe r520, and the rea question is will ati be able to launch and provide 32 ipe r520 cards that beat the 7800ultra...

My thoughts exactly, altough i'm already pretty sure that it is exactly that...Even if it turns out the card isnt all that bad, i'll still wait for the R580..

I've never owned any nvidia card except for the Geforce 2 or something ... Not about to buy one since i still prefer ATI cards for no reason what so ever...

But the R520...? I'm letting this one slide ....

Erm it was anounced that the Ultra was scraped.

they annouced the 7800ultra was scraped but that doesnt mean nvidia is sitting there twiddling its thumbs ;)

Hmm interesting, but it would be really annoying if all they launched was was like the x1300 and nothing more. Then started another countdown to the x1600, and finally another to the x1800.

Well lets wait and see what happens.

I'm confident about this as well.

no problem, waiting for ati comes pretty naturally

I selfishly hope that the 7800GTX outperforms, only because I can't afford to buy any more hardware! :(

We haven't seen any serious crossfire results, I'm interested in that mostly.

I'm saving already :) Is there an AGP version confirmed?

Not as far as I know.

I believe that there will be numerous units for sale at launch. ATI cannot afford another X800 style launch, that would cripple them for a long time to come.

Is it just me or is there velocity equation supposed to be average Velocity = delta L over Delta T, and the equation that they are using now would be average speed which is total distance/total time.

It makes no sense what they are trying to say since the equation really doesn't make any since if they are infact looking for velocity.

So maybe macci is gonna show up soon with some numbers.

If he hasn't been benching these for the last months, what on earth has he been doing???

d/t = ave speed.

depending.. Displacement over Time is velocity.. because its a vector quantity.. however they list just d... and its technicalyy Delta D over Delta T

however.. we'll see whats really up in 10 days.. i was on a torrent site. and there was a countdown going for ati also.. kinda strange i think.

whats with the 'd/t = v', whats that formula all about?

D: Distance, the length of the card, the X1800XT is as long as the 7800GTX

T: The time they took to launch it.
