they are 219.00 unfortunately

I got mine today and misunderstood the guy yesterday when he said he "just had one" after his warehouse guy checked the stepping.

turns out he meant just one stepping.

He has FIFTY 0517APAW retail box CPUs.

anybody interested please PM me and I'll forward you his email

I'll get pictures up tonight while I'm lapping the HS

could you tell us the store ?

yeah, that would be easier lol

TechFitters, Inc., they are a custom builder/supplier here in Minneapolis, not really a retail shop

greg@techfitters.com
website is www.techfitters.com but is currently under renovation

he is willing to ship anywhere but probably won't budge on that price I would guess

Told him to prepare for emails from god only knows where, so he is expecting a bunch asking for that stepping.

I'm hoping he gives me another free one as referral fee

peace perc,

You'd think so, but they are all 3000+

batch code on mine is 1301

highest price for a 3000+ I've ever seen

but better that IMHO than buying a $179 E6 locally, which is what I was about to do anyway

more expensive than an Opteron 144 with 1MB cache available in about 10 days.. :/

lol
where is the batch number on the cpu ? I don't remember :p:

I hope it is the last four digits of the last line on the CPU or I am giving wrong batch code

Don't forget my 0517APJW 3000+ batch 1127 clocks over 200 Mhz further than the 0517APJW 3000+ batch 0534 that i had...

heck yes it is, it's a small fortune, IMHO. all I could find around here are E6s and weeks 23+ of E3 so I figured what the heck

odds of finding good stepping 0517 sitting on a shelf somewhere can't be good I would imagine at this point in time, let alone 50.

don't know how it clocks yet. walked in the door an hour ago and have crap to do tonight but wanted to post this quickly for anyone who wants to pay too much for a Venice ;)

I'll be happy if I get the stock HS lapped and polished and the rig booted by 2 a.m. when I get un-busy. tonight or tomorrow I'll order XP90c/SI-120/Zalman9500 (haven't decided) and will hopefully have some higher clocks by the middle of next week.

I'm going straight for 300x9 and will post preliminary results tomorrow, more complete results probably Monday night, just an annoyingly busy weekend coming up.

I'll keep you all updated, don't imagine these chips are going anywhere if they have been sitting around for 6 months.

2808mhz 1.58v

if mine hits that, no problem

better than my 2.62 CBBID Winnie@ 2.62 and a billion volts
(complete with bogus mem controller)

1301 batch code is too high? I thought that was myth?

btw...I haven't tested mine without the ish ;)

I still think lower batch code tends to OC better, but it seems to have very week correlation with OCs, especially when compared to stepping and week, where you can see some pretty obvious trends. Batch code is a much, much weaker trend, as you could tell from my post above. I wouldn't worry about having a high batch #. I got 1127 and this CPU can do 2.9 Ghz on air ;)

thanks Absolute_0

I'll be putting the chip in my Neo4-F which can boot at least 320+ no problems. If I run out of FSB on this board I'll plug in VNF4Ultra which is good for 350+ :toast: (too scared to exceed that  )

anyone wanna buy one then trade me for my 3500+ ;) ?
