When I heard a rumor of the Nvidia 80 drivers adding support for dual core I decided to see what kind of difference, if any, in frame rates they offer. I decided I would check my frame rates using counter strike source mostly because I didn’t think the results would be so interesting, I was wrong.
The Rig:
AMD 4400+ X2 @ 2915mhz
Redline 265mhz @ 2225
2 x 6800U @ 450/1100
I'm not sure what all settings and tweaks I have running in counter strike although I made sure clock settings and options remained the same for both tests. I also made sure the background applications running were the same during both runs.
FPS on the 78.01 = 134fps
FPS on the beta 81.26 = 180fps :slobber:
After a saw these results I quickly loaded up 3dmark05 and actually saw a loss of frame rates going between single and dual core processing, so apparently it is specific on the application that you are running. I did not let this get me down and I tried Aquamark to see if that would show an increase and it did.

This is my X2 running using the /onecpu flag in the boot.ini

There is my X2 running as it should.
Keep in mind I did not run "bench" settings so I'm not trying to show off results, only trying to show off these new drivers and the possible potential using a dual core CPU. I hope to see results from other dual core users. :D
