It's my understanding that if you buy a Crossfire setup that it will only run as fast as the slowest card. So if you buy it and use a X850XT Master card and a X850 Pro then the X850 will turn off 4 pipes lower it's speeds to match the X850 Pro.
That answer your question? If not please explain further.

no it still doesent hehe. well what im saying is, i think i heard that you have to pair X850 seris cards with X850 seris. for instance, a X850 seris card will not work with a X800 seris card. is this true?

I had a link somewhere around here, but can't find it now. It mentioned the X850 and the X800 Master cards. So yes I guess you wouldn't be able to use the X850XT with a X800 Master card.

I know this is off subject, but do you know when the crossfire is comeing out...I want to see SLI vs. Crossfire benchs, and I know that SLI will win cause it's older and has more reasearch done, but I still would like to see before I upgrade to SLI and get rid of my AGP once and for all

Most likely from the ATi News(rumor) thread in the News section
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=72799
Although ATi did state at a recent investor relations meeting that we could see some Rx5xx chips by the end of September...
