Guys we need to up production and take down crunchers inc. They are a newly formed team that dropped in just above us and are out producing us ever so slightly. So lets get the VM machines going. PLease PM me about increasing your production, its time that XS took the mantle in Dimes and D2OL. :stick:
Sorry to say this, but I'm already running at max speed and my pc's can't handle the extra power required by vPC software.

If u have a link I'll try vPC software. It just has to be free.

Here is the eval link for vmware
http://www.vmware.com/download/
It should give you 30 days or so to evaluate.
Watch how this goes everyone. Piracy will not be allowed here. Do this with VMWare legally or dont do it.
As for whatever else it is your doing, mind explaining?
Reminds me, how do we check stats on Dimes anyways?

I'm in the process of sorting parts and building another box, just for DIMES, it doesn't have to be fast right? Would a K6/2 or P3 600 or Duron 700/1300 do?
If I get a mobo working, I can do a XP2400 w/ DDR if that'll make any difference.
As long as it's quiet, I can leave it 24/7 (I get on average, 8hrs a day ATM)
Could build multiple boxes, but the GF would skin me alive with them in the front room. As it is, I have room for a small quiet cool one, behind my desk.

Here is a quick stats links

I will investigate for a shareware equivalent of Vmware.
Has anyone had anyluck running dimes on linux at all ?
The VM dimes machines doesnt need to be fast as it will be pretty much unusable to do much on. But it does get the points in.

If memory serves, you want "VMware Workstation".

Yes the workstation is the best as it allows you to play with linux also.

I'm working on a dedicated DIMES/D2OL box as we speak, (They seem to compliment each other). Tracking down a Suspected CPU/MOBO Fault, (Random Reboots), but I'm expecting to recieve a new NF7-S in the next few day's, and I can rule the CPU out tonight (Plenty of Socket A Spares, I'm a PC Tech by Trade :D )
I'm making it as qiuet as possible, so I can leave it 24/7, connected to my 24 Port Switch (Plenty of room for expansion, but will need a wages rise to cope with the projected Power bills  )
Also seeing If I can grab a HD to build a 2nd DIMES box for 24/7, and trying to convince the GF to leave hers 24/7 as well.
Now, all I need after that is a VMWare walkthrough, a friend has a legit copy that he doesn't use any more that he's willing to donate to the DIMES cause, all I need is how to use it (Hint as Subtle as a brick to the teeth, TheWildBlue ;) )

So vmware connects our computers and makes it one big super computer?

no it installs a mini computer( or several) inside a window on your computer so you can run multiple copies of dimes at the same time as you can only install one per os.

Main rig back up and Diming. The system should produce around 5k+ a day again.
