Hmmm, since I have two of these cases laying around, i was thinking of modding them. I have an idea or two lodged in my head. I have some of the tools necessary my uncle has the rest i would need. These are OLD cases, designed with pentium 100s in mind. :P. I will probably get started working on these in the next month or two. I have to get a workspace assembled in our cellar/basement thing... Because the garage is too full. But here is the case i am talking about and the mobo and cpu that were extracted from it.

Heh.... with the right cutting and drilling, we could get your Albatron to fit in one of the ol Winte Cases

Sweet board.

If you don't have a dremel, I HIGHLY recommend one. Corded. They are very useful, and you'll find more uses than case modding for it. For instance, I brush my teeth with mine.

Naw, mad dad has a whole arsenal of tools, a dremel, table saw, band saw, jig saw, radial arm saw, metal break & roller... the list goes on... I just need to coax him into getting a big sheet of glass so I can lap my heatsinks.. :/

sweeeeet. Plus, you have a dad who knows how to use all those great tools.

Yeh, the dremel is basically all i have atm. That and a few other things. But meh, i pulled all the jumpers off of that mobo pictured above. For future use.... same with the screws.. you can always find those if you dont need them, but never when you need them. :S

I see great potential for that case. Not many mod Desktop cases nowadays.

I am wondering where the best place to get supplies is, my uncle (JasonDTM's dad would be my source for Aluminum if needed, and tools.) But I was thinking like regular stuff, that maybe youd find at a hardware store or something, like Wire Mesh, braided steel tubing (like the kind on cars, only large diameter), stuff like that. I have ready at a decent driving distance:
5 lumber yards (including a hometown style tractor supply)
A sutherlands
A home depot
A lowes
and serveral hardware stores.

So out of the places stated in my previous post would any of YOU go to?

you didn't mention a welder. that would be perfect for making those two cases into one.

MY dad is a welder for the railroad... :P... we dont have a welder however, we have everything anyone would ever need as far as know how... :D..... But i just have them screwed together so someone can put whatever on the bottom one.

okay, here are some updates.
i have it painted flat black now, however, it needs another coat of it. I will have pics of what i have done so far later.

As you can see from the pics, it needs more paint as my previous post says. I did what I could with what i had at the time. I need to buy two maybe three more cans of paint. :stick:

Looking good, are the cases attached? Put some wheels on it too!

Yeah, the cases are attached with simple screws for easy access to the bottom, and I may think of adding wheels to it, but for now, i have the rubber pads that came with the cases. rofl.

Are you going to put some massive water cooling under there?

VisiV

eventually, I dont know about the massive part, but first i have to get my next comp project rolling, :D. Meaning I have to get a job, as soon as I get my car running.

Looks Good.

The first case (before the mod) we have at Uni, but the Vertical ones. They are the :banana::banana::banana:ing ugliest POS's ever. :)

I was amazed that the Neo4 fit right in there with the old PCI slot holder and all the holes already drilled....
