Some Guys benched it out .. the bridge makes something about 2-3% of performance ..
and as far as i can remember, nVidia says its also possible with 4 cores
This morning two pictures of a possible PCBs dual of a GeForce 7800 Ultra map of ASUS emerged. At this time ASUS wanted to deliver still no statement to such maps. Now however ASUS confirmed the rumors. One works on dual a GeForce 7800 GT, can however still no technical details admits to give. It admits is only that the price is to be under that two NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT maps. It remains hoping only that this model the ready for the market can be attained and acquired in the trade. The two models with two NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT and Ultra chip, presented to the CeBit 2005, remained being in the development stage. Theoretically even the employment two of such maps would be conceivable, because NVIDIA stressed already several times that the use from then four GPUs is possible by a modified driver in a SLI system. The map shown by ASUS now possesses however still no SLI Connector. The two on photos connections which can be seen to serve the possible use of further monitor exits.
dont know if the translation is 100% correct
In German it says that its possible with a modded driver to run 4 cores @ SLI

mh, the pcb looks very bulky. are there some pics out there which show the board with a heatsink or fan attached to the chips?

nope , just these pics at the top
Sli don't support more than 2 gpu yet if i remember
from what i understand sli supports 16 gpu's, its just a question of the motherboard lanes, i remember gigabyte prototyped a motherboard with 4 slots and they were kind of the pioneers of multi gpu's on 1 card too, however i'm not sure this will actually come to the retail channel as asus also canned there prototype of 2 6800gt's on one pcb

The new SLI 16x chipset has the lanes to run 2x of these. Now we just need two of these cards in our hands and some modded drivers.
