LED lights

What voltage are the power led lights on a case? I am adding some lights behind a clear blue section of my case and the ones I bought at radioshack lit up, went dim then sounded like someone fired a bb gun. :slapass:

How did u connect them? If u want to connect them to the 12V rail don't forget a resistor otherwise they'll pop in a sec (what is the case apperantly)

you need the specs on the leds and then plug those numbers into a led calculator (google it) and that will tell you the resistor you need, with out a resistor running the leds of the 5v or 12v line will fry them
