You bump after 1 hour? It's not like this thing was off the first page. Hell it was probably still the 1st post. Considering your name says 87 in it I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you were born in 1987. Since most of the year has passed I will also assume that you have had your birthday already, making you 18. At 18 you don't know the difference between witch and which?

Anyway back on topic, the X700 is probably the better card. It has the same amount of pixel pipelines but with more memory. With the X700 instead of no AA you might be able to put it on 2X at the same resolution.

3DMark (with stock air cooling)

2k5 stock: 2400
2k5 o'clock: 3000

2k3 stock: 7400
2K3 o'clock: 8300

At least that's what I get :)

I'm going to pick on you for posting this thread twice, that's a no no. This is the correct place for this thread. I'll get the other thread in here later.

I've had both cards, the x700 is better at more modern games, the 9800 is faster at the older games for sure. My x700 pro cannot beat the best 9800pro's in 3d01 but whoops them fine in 03 and 05 benchies...

Have fun

Leadtek WinFast GeForce 6800 128MB DDR has 12 pipes for a £117= $212
or
X700 £90 = $164

i am think it would be better to go for the 6800 rigth as there is not much of a price jump please tell me if i am wrong

I would go with the X700 as well.

BTW, a witch = a believer or follower of the Wicca religion, or a woman or hag who is believed to possess magical powers and practice sorcery.

which is a pronoun (in your usage of the word), that means what particular one or ones out of a group. This is the word you want to use, not witch.

Of course it is!! I can easily get 18k in 2001 without overclocking...

My 9800pro was faster than my x700 but only because my 9800pro was an INSANE overcloker, on oc forums i have the stock cooling record even beating pelt cooled volt modded cards...my x700 was decent and i loved the card ran games GREAT for the price but i would take an 9800xt over it any day
