I traded my B0 stepping for a C1 stepping and only difference so far is teh fact it is runner 9 degrees C HOTTER than the B0 stepping did.

I am on the ASUS p4t533 mobo with i850 chipset - has anyone else noticed this difference?

I got about a 6c temp raise

2.53 b0 = 53c
2.66 c1 = 59c
2.80 c1 = 59c

all overclocked by about the same %

yeah but i am talking 2.53 b0 against 2.53 c1

the temps raised 9 degrees

Maybe because of the small voltage raise (1.525V vs 1.50V for the B0 stepping)? 0.025V isn't that much, I know but these days, you never know. But 9°c is a lot, indeed.

myt b0 went to 2.8GHz and temps never raised

Doesn't look normal to me. Temps should raise a little bit, even if the voltage isn't increased.
Have you tried reseating the heatsink? Any thermal compound used? (AS3 I suppose)

AS3 in my swiftech QPower

On P4's, temp raises a lot when you overvolt. If you keep the same volt and OC, it doesn't change.
