View Full Version : Which High End Case do you recommend?

Im after a new Case, and it seems i have too many options to choose from! Which, in your opinion, is the "Best" Case. I will be running a Cooling Unit (other than Air) at a later date, so need it to be a good size. Lian Li, Silverstone, Coolermaster or what do you think? Is the Savrow Blackbird Case still in production and is that a good choice?
Thanks :toast:

For me, one of the best cases at the moment is the Coolermaster Stacker.
I have it from the first day that it came to the market, and I am very satisfied with it... Enormous, lots of space in it (I have a triple rad, a doble rad, two watercooling pumps, and liquid cooling in cpu, two vgas and chipset, and 4 hard disks, and two optical units, so, imagine how big it is... :D)
Anyway, LianLi has very good cases too... go for a Stacker or LianLi, and you will be very satisfied... ;)

lian-li 7077 is my current favorite. You can configure the 5.25 bays down the front anyway you want... you can even get a chiller in there:

You want a Lian-Li PC65 or PC75. Those are the cases that the Lian-Li vapo/Prometia kits were designed for, and they match perfectly.

Plus, they're great cases. :)

Theres also the TJ07 which is coming soon...

IMO, the best case is whatever you think it is. Its really just an opinion and if it fits your needs...

Thanks! That's actually and older picture, before insulation and wiring was all cleaned up. I'm sure you'll be happy with your case (a vapo never hurts either)

Thanks for the input guys. All seem really good suggestions, i'll have to pick from the Lian Li, Silverstone or the Stacker. I was very interested in the Lian Li PC V2000 and the Lian-Li PC V2100. What are the differences between the 2? Is it just the swing front door? Do they have seperate sections for the PSU and Motherboard? Which would you choose from the 2? I'll have to go for Black either way ;)

I love your V2000 too! Awesome Rig! Is that Aluminium Chequer plate you used on the Case? I work in Sheet Metal, and get meaterials cheap, so i may create some kind of design incorporating the Chequer Plate. I like the look, real industrial looking!

Im a man of the Lian Li Cases. I started off with a thermaltake daemon 3 series... Then i moved to Lian Li! They rock, especially if you using anything other than air cooling since they have tons of extra space :)

the 2000 and 2100 are pretty similar except for the door and the 2000 has lots of little holes that helps a bit to cool the pc....

black looks like 10000 times better if you want to see some mods check www.bit-tech.net there you will find some lian li mods that deservs some watching.

Definitely a Stacker (T01) or V2000B/V1000B. I have to say that the Vx000B's overwhelm the Stacker when it comes to looks, but the Stacker leads in every other possible frontier - performance, room, features... However, a very-well modded Stacker can surpass a Vx000B looks-wise in some cases.

The Silverstone T07 looks very nice, but it has only 92mm fans. 120mm fans today is a must. Also, it will be very very pricey (unjustly, IMO), probably at 300$ or more. The Silverstone T06 is already outdated and contains only 80mm fans.

Another options for you is to wait for the Stacker 830 (RC-830), which is very promising. It has the best features and airflow around. It is also very light and is Aluminium only.

bartsimsonii

I would say the stacker 830.

The Silverstone T06 is already outdated and contains only 80mm fans.
How dare you offend my case!!! :slapass:

It is not outdated...
It does not ONLY use 80mm fans (infact it only has 1x 80mm fan, and 2x 120mm fans)...
And it was one of the first cases to introduce a WindTunnel...
It has lots of room.... LOTS!!!

Get your facts straight please.

And it looks sexC too...

And again... the TJ07 does not JUST use 92mm fans it uses 1x 120mm fan on the front and 2x 92mm fans on the rear... 2x 92mmm fans are better than 2x 80mm fans so you cant complain... much. :p:

EDIT: Using the TJ06 and its stock fans (without the Wind Tunnel) I had case temperatures (below the HDD and PSU) that were lower than ambient outside the case.

What about ENERMAX CS-718, is anybody have this case?

The fact is, it all comes to your own personal preference - The LL Vx000, CM Stacker, SS T06J, CS-718 are all great cases, it's just a matter of taste.

Hey muaddib! There aren't too many lian-li fanbioys here! ;) But he's right though... it's much about taste. Just don't forget that the "architecture" of the case should meet your plans with it! The CM Stacker for instance is just like a Big box, whilst the Vx00 lian-li is more about sections etc...

We love Lian-Li because it's stylish, lightweight but durable, easy to mod and has good ventilation and convenient features. I, for example like simple, plain looking cases and I can go with Lian-li on the other hand another friend here likes all the eye candy such as lights, windows and she/he can also go with Lian-Li. I can't imagine myself using an Aspire case (no offense).

Mountain Mods U2-UFO, or the Opti-1203 version

if you want the best in cooling, and most drive space, get a mountain mods U2-UFO Opti-1203, a thermochill radiator with a 120.3 PA, or HE series radiator, and two shrouds in a push/pull rad. cooling config

This is a pic of the Stacker830 I've taken two days ago, it is just huge, it has room for four 120 fans on the side, other four 120 fans on the front, one 120 fan on the back and then I don't remember. Obviously it is ATX/BTX compatible. I have really been impressed with it :)

I have a Silverstone LC13
http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-lc13.htm
and I love it, extremely good build quality on it.
(I am however building a HTPC in it at the moment, not quite finished)
This is due because of there not being a viable Xfire MB solution out right now. The Asus looks promising, but we will see. My main thing is the need of 3 PCI slots free.
The available space in the case if great for the size, but choice depends on need as well.
I will attest to the build quality though, best I have seen yet in a case, and I have owned quite a few, including a Lian-li, Antec and a Coolermaster. :fact:

The Stacker 1 and Stacker 2 (pic above) are the best cases out there IMO, at least feature and performance wise.
Moreover Pisu87, the new Stacker has 3x120mm front fans, just like the old one. The 4x120mm on the side is great though, too bad it's instead of a window (but you can't get everything). If it weren't so ugly, it were perfect - I mean, it has everything except looks and a normal price tag (it's even lite).

I guess i'll buy the Stacker1 and that's it..

So far I've only been using the stock WB that came with it and it's not too bad. I do have a Swiftech Storm that I will be trying out shortly.

The radiator on this thing is massive and very effective! Not only that but the entire case is a giant heatsink. Very high quality too. No sharp edges. Only thing slighty lacking IMO is the small casters that are provived. On carpet when the side is open it almost wants to fall over. Really depends on the caster position though.
