I'm going to build my own case out of Styrofoam soon. Can anyone tell me what I should be careful with? Will it damage any of my components? ( mobo, gfx...etc) Thx. The reason I want to build one is b/c I want to save money, well it will be my temporary case, Later on I will get a REAL case. (LOL) Plus, with the money saved I will get DICE or a chilly1 unit....Thx alot! :)

Er.... my precaution is not to.
Styrofoam builds up a lot of static (I think), static is a big NO.

no :nono:
bad idea, it really does generate too much static.
just use an old TV box to put your rig.

You can paint the container with aluminum rust paint, it will eliminate static problems, it'll act more like a metal case then and the pastic in the paint will also help keep it intact...

This wouldnt be a good idea anyway, syrafoam is an excellent insulator and you would have to have a ton of airflow through the case just to offset that.
